Accommodations

Base Camp: Camping, camaraderie, and close proximity to each finish line!

BC Bike Race Base Camp accommodations will be provided for each racer from the evening of Day 1 (June 28th) to the evening of Day 6 (July 3rd). Before and after these dates, racers are expected to provide their own accommodations.

We will have the BC Bike Race Base Camp set up very close to the finish line for each stage. Your team will be issued a 4-person tent with a minimal foam padded base which be will set up and taken down for you in Base Camp daily. Each Base Camp location (rec. centers, community centers, public parks, etc.) has been chosen for its proximity and access to important amenities like showers and restrooms. And, because each stage ends in a beautiful British Columbia vacation destination city/town, the areas are highly populated with easy access to grocery stores, restaurants and shopping.

We’ll take care of you from the finish to the start of each day!

After you cross the finish line, you’ll be greeted by our finish line hosts and food station. From there you can wash your steed at the bike wash in preparation for the wrenches from Obsession: Bikes. Base Camp will be there for all your post ride needs: 

• a shower truck as well as showers available at each arena,
• Body Therapy Team including a Chiropractor,
• secure indoor bike parking,
• retail area so you can pick up a BCBR branded spatula,
• and racer relations station.

Don't forget the BC Ferries Bear’s Den....a relaxing place where you can meet and chill with friends or just watch your fellow racers cross the finish line. Comfy furniture, shelter from the weather, a selection of games for your enjoyment - available all day and into the evening. Added features will include a self-serve BBQ, charging station for cell phones & PDA's and more!

Upgraded/Alternate Accommodations: Booking other places to stay along the way...

Prefer to upgrade your accommodations from Base Camp to local hotels? Looking for some great deals on hotels in each of the stage locations for your moral support crew (friends, family, etc)? Interesting in campsite options for your support crew? We're here to help!

Camping Options

If, rather than hotels, your support crew wants to live the outdoor life along each of the BCBR Stages, then check out the Toursim BC website. In the Destination drop-down menu, choose the town you wish to stay in (follow the BCBR Stage host towns...except use Mill Bay for Shawnigan Lake), and then under the Category drop-down menu, choose Campground/RV Parks. Contact each campground direclty to check availability and reserve your spot. Please note that we do not have a BCBR rate available for any campsites at this time.

For 2009...

...we're working on a whole new Accommodations booking process that should be in place later this fall. We strongly recommend you hold off on booking any accommodations until the BCBR process is in place, as we're working to secure the best possible rates at the best possible locations along the 2009 route. More details to come later this year!
