Read our FAQ for answers to some common questions about racing as a team of 2 in BC Bike Race.
Are you 2 active couples that want to race but have kids and want to spell each other off every other day?
Do you have a corporate team where 3, 4, or 5 of you want to get in on the action?
Do you want to have a more relaxed approach to riding from Victoria to Whistler and want to ride every other day with 3 or 4 of your best riding buddies?
Are you a personal trainer with 2-4 clients that you want to lead through the 7 days?
If so, the Teams of More than 2 option is ideal for you!
Teams can have 2, 3, 4 or 5 team members ride each and every day! You'll each be issued a bike plate and it's up to you to decide which riders on your team belly-up to the start line each day! Whoever on your team starts the day must finish the day. Your daily Team time will be determined when your final rider crosses the finish line. Times will be posted but there are no daily awards for Teams of More than 2.
All members of your team will receive participants' medals at the end of the race on Day 7. Members who ride every day - from 1 through 7 - making all cutoff times, will receive finishers' medals.
For example, in a Team of 5:
Day 1 - Riders A, B & D start the day and all of them finish the race and make each cutoff.
Day 2 - Riders B & E start the day and both of them finish the race and make each cutoff.
Day 3 - Riders B, C & E begin the day, and Rider E drops out but Riders B & C finish the race and make each cutoff.
If this continues where Rider B finishes each stage and makes each cutoff for the remaining 4 days, then Rider B will receive a finishers' medal while the other team members will receive participants' medals.
