Teams of 2

BC Bike Race is designed for teams of 2 people. You will each be issued a bike plate displaying your team number. For each of the seven days, you and your teammate will start the race together and must cross the finish line together. You'll share the guts and the glory as a partnership.

Race categories for two-person teams are Open Men, Open Women, Open Mixed, Veterans 80+, and Veterans 100+

NEW! Singlespeed Category for two-person Open Men & Open Women teams*

*Requires a minimum of 5 Singlespeed teams registered overall.

Teams of 4

Once again, BC Bike Race welcomes Teams of 4...

Why Teams of 4? We want to make this event as inclusive as possible!

Are you 2 active couples that want to race but have kids and want to spell each other off every other day?
Do you have a corporate team where 4 of you want to get in on the action?
Do you want to have a more relaxed approach to riding from Victoria to Whistler and want to ride every other day with 3 of your best riding pals?
Are you a personal trainer with 3 clients that you want to lead through the 7 days?

If so, the team of 4 option is ideal for you!

Teams of 4 can have 2, 3 or all 4 team members ride each and every day! You'll each be issued a bike plate and it's up to you to decide which riders on your team belly-up to the start line each day! Whoever on your team starts the day must finish the day. Once you're out there racing all Team of 2 race rules apply in the same way to you - which means that all members of your team (be it 2, 3 or 4 riders) must be within 2 minutes of each other at all times. Your daily Team time will be determined when your final rider crosses the finish line.

Teams of 4 have their own race category in BC Bike Race.

NEW! Non-Competitive Recreational and Corporate Sub-Category - Teams of 3, 4, or 5

All race rules outlined above apply to this new sub-category as well. The only difference is that as a Non-Competitive team, unlike regular teams of 4, your team will not qualify for daily podium awards. However, provided that two of your team members meet the cutoffs each day, your team will qualify for the finishers' medal and shirt at the end of the race.

Read our FAQ for answers to some common questions about teams of 4.
