I’d like to nominate Martin Littlejohn for the Kazlaw Community Award.
Martin Littlejohn has been behind the scenes in mountain biking for decades, helping to create a voice and platform for mountain biking in Western Canada.
He is the director of the MBTA (Mountain Biking Tourism association) where his job is to work collaboratively with a network of businesses, bike clubs, communities, resorts, and government agencies to make mountain bike experiences sustainable at the local level, accessible to a variety of visitor markets, and help to create Western Canada as the premier mountain bike destination on the planet. He also manages www.mountainbikebc.ca which is a website of resources of where to ride in BC.
I have been working with Martin for almost 10 years planning and organizing trips/itineraries all over BC helping to showcase the communities and riding in different regions. Every year, two lucky winners join in on a week-long biking road trip to help showcase these regions.
Martin is one of the most down to earth individuals I have ever met. He is incredibly fun to travel with, a great rider and contributes countless volunteers hours towards helping our sport grow. He is dedicated, passionate and a great voice for our sport.
