Coach Adam Walker, founder of The Cycling Co. brings a wealth of experience as a versatile athlete across cross country, road racing, and enduro MTB disciplines.

With a competitive career that began in 1988, Adam is a former Canadian National Team member, Canadian National Champion (100km Team Time Trial) and Canada Cup XC Champion.

Adam’s coaching journey encompasses riders at every level of experience, from grassroots to World Cup podiums.

Adam lives in the Cowichan Valley, at the base of Mt. Tzouhalem and a stone’s throw from Maple Mountain. He rides and hikes on these mountains regularly and knows just about every meter of trail.

ENDURANCE

With your registration you will have access to a professionally designed training plan on TrainingPeaks, at no additional cost. We have teamed up with MAD Endurance to offer you two eight-week programs. The plans can also be used on Zwift. If you are interested in a simplified PDF version of the plans, please reach out to [email protected].

  • The first 8-week plan is about building base fitness and strength.
  • The second 8-week plan is about working on top end fitness and getting you to the start line fit, fast, healthy and rested.
  • During the race Karsten will be available to answer athlete questions.

Karsten is a Professional Endurance Athlete and has raced the BC Bike Race in the past.

STRENGTH

Coach Jason Bond, founder of BONDtraining, has established himself as one of Vancouver’s leading bike-focused Strength coaches. Jason is passionate about all things 2-wheeled and brings a wealth of experience as both a trainer and cyclist

Jason has trained himself and raced across a wide range of cycling disciplines, from MXC, XCO, DH, Enduro(mtb), Road Racing, CX and BMX; his personal race experience also includes completing the BCBR.

BONDtraining’s ‘MTBdryland’ Program is an off-season strength training program in its 16th year. The area’s riding community and Bike Industry professionals trust the program, and it sells out annually.

The new ‘HYBRID’ training program launched in November at the North Shore Bike Park (North Vancouver, Canada). These fast-paced training sessions combine conditioning segments using intervals and challenges on the park’s various pump tracks with strength and mobility components off the bike.

DRE’S WISDOM

Andreas Hestler, Co-Founder of the BC Bike Race.

Taking Canada to the Olympic debut of Mountain Biking in Atlanta (1996) ranks very high as an achievement, as does representing Canada as the National Champion (x5); but building the BC Bike Race from the ground up holds a special spot in Dre’s heart as it is sharing his passion for mountain biking with the world.
