The Cowichan Trail Stewardship Society would like to nominate Jane Kaiser for the Kazlaw Community Award.
Jane has been involved ever since the Cowichan Trail Stewardship Society was founded in 2013 and has been its backbone ever since. Her tireless efforts working behind the scenes as our treasurer, municipal liaison, trail day organizer, and now executive director have culminated in a strong relationship and long-term agreements with our local Municipality guaranteeing trail access for everyone in the Cowichan Valley. She was also instrumental in the construction of the well renowned Xylem/Maple Syrup loop on Maple Mountain which was the first authorized mountain bike trail constructed in the Municipality of North Cowichan. This trail was prominently featured in the Day 1 of the 2018 BC Bike Race and will once again be delighting riders on Day 1 of the 2019 BC Bike Race.
She is hard at work as the CTSS’s executive director on future trail projects including a Flow Trail coming to Maple Mountain and a beginner-friendly kid’s loop to allow more local riders to get into the sport. We at the CTSS would like to express our appreciation for her years of hard work making the trails of the Cowichan Valley better for everyone.
